Jivamukti Yoga and meditation holidays

Amieira, Portugal, August 19th – 25th 2017

This yoga holidays are designed to get rid of stress and exhaustion, connecting with nature and with ancient practices that allow us to achieve deep relaxation and recharge us with vital energy. Listento your body, change your habits and recharge your spirit, with a memorable yoga and wellness experience. Jivamukti Yoga and meditation holidays – join us !

The retreat center is set in six hectares of a traditional Portuguese rural estate in the gorgeous countryside of central Portugal.  A peaceful place of authentic yogic practice and an opportunity to rest and restore in a beautiful location. When you are not practicing yoga there will be plenty of time  to socialise, relax by the salt water pool, explore the surrounding forest, read a book from the extensive library, recharge and just be in the moment. There are pergolas and hammocks dotted all around the grounds so finding space is very easy. We chose this place for its authenticity and closeness to nature, with its sounds, smells and colours.

MORNINGS begin at 8am with with meditation, pranayama and a dynamic Jivamukti yoga practice with Candida. After yoga we will enjoy the breakfast and some free time to relax in the pool and in nature. At 2pm we will enjoy a healthy fresh lunch outside, on the terrace overlooking the valley.

AFTERNOONS can be spent relaxing, reading, swimming or exploring the village and the Zezere river routes. At 6pm we will meet again with Candida and Sofía for a yin / restorative practice together, or a specific workshop.

EVENINGS will find us sharing our dinner under the stars – appreciating the delicious tastes, good food and great company! We will have a time together after dinner with meditation, chanting and closing of the day, related to the retreat theme.

Daily yoga classes will be offered in a way to release tensions and at the same time awaken energy and vitality, helping students grow in their own personal practice. Classes are open to all levels of practitioners, and can range from vigorous dynamic classes to gentle, meditative classes. They will be moulded to fit everybody’s needs, and students will get personalized attention and space to deeply explore their practice. The Jivamukti Yoga method, created in 1984 by Sharon Gannon and David Life, is taught in a dynamic “vinyasa” style, where each movement is linked to the breath. People love this style of yoga for the way it brings together the philosophical, intellectual, spiritual and physical aspects of yoga. Sanskrit chanting, uplifting music, yogic breathing practices and meditation are part of every class.

Certified Jivamukti yoga and Yoga Therapy instructor, Candida Vivalda, will facilitate the classes, helping each student focus on improving their practice and gaining new insights into their bodies and minds. Candida, originally from Rome, has been studying and practicing yoga since 2003, throughout Europe, United States and India, in workshops and retreats with renowned teachers. In 2013, after some transformative months spent traveling around India and Asia, she got the Certification to teach Jivamukti yoga, with the aim of making reality her passion for yoga and teaching, and of sharing with students the wonderful message of compassion and happiness that is Yoga. Candida teaches regularly Jivamukti yoga in Madrid, at workshops and retreats in Italy and Spain, at Yoga congresses and conferences.
